Nursing homes
Most nursing homes offer around-the-clock supervision by licensed nurses and are able to care individuals with special medical needs and requirements. You should consider nursing home if your medical care needs have become too great to handle at home or in another facility, or you need a higher level of care temporarily after hospitalization.
Nursing homes
Many nursing homes are able to offer care for individuals that require assistance with activities of daily living up to individuals who need 24-hour medical supervision, rehabilitation or skilled nursing. Often nursing homes can give specialized care for individuals suffering from medical conditions such as memory loss by nurses specializing in dementia care. Some nursing homes have a separate unit for Alzheimer´s residents. If you are unsure whether nursing home is an appropriate care facility for you or your loved one, ask yourself these questions; Do you or your loved one require specialized health care services? Is nursing home more cost effective than other living alternatives? Does your loved one need post-hospital rehabilitation following an illness or injury?
